Uncertified vote tallies show presidential hopefuls Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump winning their respective political party primaries in Stickney Township, according to Cook County Clerk’s website.
Stickney Township encompasses the communities of Burbank, Stickney, Forest View, and the eastern half of Bedford Park, as well as some small portions of Bridgeview. The unincorporated communities of Central Stickney and Nottingham Park are also within the township.
Stickney Township's approximate borders are Pershing Road (39th Street) on the north, Cicero Avenue on the east, 87th Street on the south, and Harlem Avenue on the west, excepting those areas in the Chicago communities of Garfield Ridge and Clearing.
Across suburban Cook County, 690,851 ballots were cast among the suburban Cook’s 1,443,261 registered voters.
In the Democratic presidential primary, Bernie Sanders captured 57 percent of the vote to Hillary Clinton’s 42 percent in Stickney Township.
On the Republican side, Donald Trump came out ahead on 62 percent of ballots cast in Stickney Township, followed by Ted Cruz (21 percent), John Kasich (8 percent), and Marco Rubio (7 percent).
In what was probably the hottest local Democratic primary race -- Cook County State’s Attorney -- two-term prosecutor Anita Alvarez won Stickney Township with 52 percent of the vote, followed by Kim Foxx (31 percent) and Donna More (17 percent) in the Democratic primary.

In Burbank, voters were asked if Burbank School District 111 should be allowed to issue $27 million in bonds to rebuild Luther Burbank School. The referendum passed with 57 percent voting yes compared to 43 percent voting no, or 3,661 to 2,726.
Burbank voters were also asked if Reavis High School District 220 should be allowed to increase the education tax rate 2.972 percent. The referendum passed with 55 percent voting yes compared to 45 percent voting no, or 3,805 to 3,174.
