Police are searching for a man involved in a Burbank home invasion.
Burbank Police say the suspect entered a home in the 8300 block of S. Laporte Avenue at about 4:45 a.m. Saturday morning. A resident who was asleep at the time told police she was awakened by the offender tugging on her shirt and pants.
After the victim screamed, the intruder ran from the home. Several residents of the home who were awakened by the commotion ran to assist the victim and observed the man fleeing. Witnesses say the man ran to a full sized white panel van that was parked several houses away from the residence. He was last seen driving the van eastbound on 84th Avenue.
According to police, no one in the house was injured in the incident.
A community alert issued by the Burbank Police Department described the man as a “white male, approximately 30-35 years old, between 5’05 – 5’10, approximately 150 – 200 lbs., wearing jean shorts and a dark colored shirt."
Residents worked with police to create a composite sketch of the intruder.
Police say there were no signs of forced entry and believe the man may have entered through an unlocked front door.
