The first crash happened about 9:40 a.m. near the intersection of 79th Street and Natoma Avenue.
According to police, the accident happened when a car driven by a teenager cut in front of a semi tractor that was westbound on 79th Street.
The semi, which was not pulling a trailer at the time, struck the car. The accident forced the truck onto the parkway where it hit and toppled a light pole.
Police said no one was injured. The Burbank teen was cited for improper lane usage.
The second crash happened about 10:05 a.m. in the 5600 block of State Road when a 2006 Ford Ecoline truck collided with a Chevy Impala, according to police.
The impact caused the 87-year-old driver to lose control of the Impala. The Chevy left the roadway and crashed through a fence and into the garage of a house located in the 5700 block of West 81st Street, police said.
The 58 year-old driver of the Ford was issued a citation for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
Both drivers refused medical attention at the scene, police said.
