The lifeless body of an unidentified man was discovered in a Burbank park Monday evening.
Police responded to a call of an unresponsive man near the area of 75th Street and Narragansett Avenue about 5:30 p.m. When officers arrived, they found the body of a man lying in a wooded area.
The man was pronounced dead at scene. Police say there were no obvious signs of trauma or decomposition of the body.
The Burbank Police Department say they have opened a death investigation and are awaiting postmortem results from the Cook County Medical Examiners’s office as to the cause of death.
The unidentified man is being listed as a John Doe until positive identification can be made. He is described as a white male, approximately 60 years-old, about 6 feet tall, 170 pounds, with gray hair and green eyes.
Burbank Police say they currently have no active missing person investigations which fit the man’s description.
The body was discovered in a brush filled, wooded tract of Narragansett Park just northeast of the Burbank Titan's football field. At first it was believed the body lay within the boundaries of Bedford Park but it was later determined to be within the Burbank city limits.
