The New Lenox Patch reported that police recently searched the home of a Burbank man in connection with a sting operation conducted by New Lenox police and the Will County Cooperative Policing Action Team.
The six week sting operation, in conjunction with security from the New Lenox Walmart and J.C. Penny, targeted an alleged shoplifting ring that trafficked in stolen merchandise.
Police executed search warrants at two Joliet convenience stores, Sunshine Food Mart and South End Food Mart, in addition to the home of Mustafa Issa, 65, of 7812 S. Nagle Ave.
According to the Patch article, police said, "The searches led to the recovery of stolen property, currency and approximately 35 grams of suspected cocaine from the South End Food Mart."
Issa was arrested along with two other men. Issa has been charged with possession of stolen property, money laundering and possession of a controlled substance.
