Burbank police conducted a brief manhunt for a suspect who fled the scene of an automobile accident Saturday afternoon involving a stolen car.
The two-car crash occurred about 1:48 p.m. near the intersection of State Road and Central Avenue in Burbank. The driver of a 2003 Ford Taurus fled the scene of the accident on foot. Victims in the second car received minor injuries and one person was transported to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn for treatment.
Police determined the Ford Taurus had been reported stolen from Bridgeview earlier that day. The driver of the stolen car was described as a white male, wearing a red and white shirt, and red baseball cap.
After the suspect was spotted in the vicinity of 80th Street and Long Avenue, police commenced a search of the area using canine units. Witnesses reported seeing police officers, on-foot with their weapons drawn, conducting a yard-to-yard search. The suspect was not located.
The case remains under investigation.
