Authorities have identified the victim of a fatal Burbank house fire earlier this month.
According to Burbank police, the Cook County medical examiner’s office positively identified the homeowner, 50-year-old Robert Krok, through dental records. His body was found by firefighters in a front room of the house in the 8600 block of South Major Avenue burned beyond recognition.
Krok was a real estate broker for Remax in Oak Lawn. He purchased the Burbank home in 2005.
A cause of death has yet to be determined. Police say the medical examiner’s office is still awaiting toxicology results which may take another month or two but do not suspect foul play.
The fire broke out in the single-story home the night of Nov. 4. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Police say the fire appears to be accidental but are awaiting results from evidence undergoing forensic testing by the Illinois State Police Crime Lab.
A makeshift memorial of candles and a wreath have materialized in recent weeks near the fire damaged home which remains sealed and cordoned off by authorities. ❒
