Burbank police officers were dispatched to a house in the 7800 block of S. Linder Avenue Tuesday evening after receiving a call from a man saying he’d been shot.
The area was cordoned off by police and neighbors reported seeing officers outside the residence with their weapons drawn.
Burbank investigators quickly determined the report was false. The alleged victim who called police was a mentally unstable individual with a history of mental issues and medical ailments according to Division Chief Mike Dudlo.
“The individual was not shot but was still transported to the hospital for a psychological evaluation,” Dudlo said.
Police declined to release the name of the individual due to the nature of the incident.
