Witnesses say the Mini Cooper was traveling southbound on Narragansett Ave. when it struck the rear of a Chevrolet pickup truck parked on the street. The force of the impact drove the truck over the curb and into a third vehicle parked in a nearby driveway. The Mini Cooper came to rest on it's driver's side trapping the driver and a female passenger.
The occupants were extracted from the Mini Cooper by Burbank Fire personnel and transported by ambulance to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.
Burbank Police described the injuries to both occupants as "relatively minor considering the circumstances." The driver of the Mini Cooper was cited with Operating a Vehicle With No Insurance and Improper Lane Usage. Division Chief Michael Dudlo of the Burbank Police Department stated that alcohol does not seem to have been a factor in this accident.
