According to Burbank Division Chief Mike Dudlo, officers were dispatched to the area around 5:17 a.m. after a 911 caller reported hearing two gunshots. The caller told police he was awakened by the sound of the gunfire but did not see anything.
As officers were searching the area, another man told police that he too was awakened by the sound of shots near his residence. The man said he heard two gunshots that were immediately followed by the sound of car doors slamming and a vehicle speeding away.
Officers at the scene located a single 9mm shell casing. No one was injured and there were no reports of property damage, according to Dudlo.
Police have not identified any suspects or arrested anyone yet.
