Shots were fired at a Burbank house overnight. A resident reported that multiple bullets entered the home in the 7500 block of South Lockwood Avenue about 3:00 a.m. No injuries were reported.
The resident was hesitant to speak about the shooting but said, “If anyone has any information about this incident, please contact the police.” The resident also stated she had no idea why someone would do such a thing.
Burbank police confirmed the shooting and said the incident is under investigation. Division Chief Mike Dudlo said “We are investigating it and have a few leads which are being followed up.”
According to Dudlo, evidence was recovered at the scene and is being sent to the Illinois State Police Crime Lab for analysis. “We are hopeful we will get something tangible to link this crime to an offender.”
“We have some theories but nothing substantiated at this point,” Dudlo said. “One theory is the house was confused with another that is down the block. That theory is being looked at closer due to a known gang member at that house.”
Police are asking anyone with information to call the police department tip line at 708-793-3388. Callers may remain anonymous.
