Burbank police were called to the home in the 8000 block of S. Sayre Avenue around 2:34 a.m. on July 5.
The resident told police he had just returned home from visiting a relative in Chicago. About five minutes after parking the Cadillac Escalade in the driveway, the man said he heard loud pops which may have been fireworks or gunshots outside his home, according to police documents.

Police said the damage was consistent with gunshots. An evidence technician called to the scene reported finding two 9mm casings near the street.
The resident told police he has no known enemies and did not know who shot at the vehicle. The man said he did not believe he was followed home from his relative’s home near 79th Street and Pulaski Road, according to police
Police said there were other vehicles parked in front of the house and in the surrounding area but only the Escalade was shot.
A canvass of the neighborhood failed to locate any witnesses.
