A teenager was slightly injured after being struck by a car Thursday afternoon. The incident occurred about 2:50 p.m. at the intersection of 79th Street and Central Avenue.
According to Burbank police, the teen was crossing 79th Street southbound, near the Speedway gas station, when a 2001 Volvo sedan making a left turn onto 79th Street from Central Avenue struck the pedestrian in the crosswalk.
The teen was transported to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn for treatment of his minor injuries.
The driver of the Volvo was given a traffic citation. Police say drugs and alcohol did not play a part in the incident.
The incident happened near the same intersection that was the scene of a traffic crash Monday, which sent four people to the hospital after an SUV collided with a Pace bus.
