Bank employees told police the man entered the bank around 1:38 p.m., jumped over the counter, and demanded money. After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, the man fled the bank.
Police said no one was injured. The FBI has classified the heist as a "takeover robbery," according BanditTrackerChicago.
The suspect was last seen running northbound on Linder Avenue. A search of the area by Burbank and Oak Lawn police units failed to locate the robber.
The suspect was described as a white male, approximately 25–35 years-old, between 5-foot-6 inches and 5-foot-8 inches tall with a medium build. He was wearing dark clothing, winter gloves, and a ski mask that covered his face.
“The FBI is also involved with the investigation,” Burbank Police Division Chief Mike Dudlo said. “It is unknown at this time if this offender is linked to any additional bank robberies.”
