Prairie Trails Public Library District will hold its 18th Annual Veterans Day Salute, Tuesday, November 11.
The event will begin at the Veterans Memorial on State Road and Melvina Avenue. The public, dignitaries, Reavis Band members and others will gather at the site at 10:45 a.m. in preparation for the 11 a.m. moment of silence and the playing of "Taps" which will honor our country's fallen heroes.
Immediately following, the full program will commence which will salute our men and women currently serving in the military as well as our veterans. The Reavis High School Band members will play the National Anthem in addition to other patriotic music It is a long-standing tradition that veteran residents of Burbank perform these meaningful responsibilities.
When the first phase of the program is completed, all participants are invited to go to the Prairie Trails Public Library District located at State Road and Moody Avenue (one block east of the Veterans Memorial) where coffee, punch and cake will be served. A token gift will be given to the first 200 program attendees at the library.
Entertainment will be provided by The Convertibles who invite you to listen – dance – sing along to popular music from the '50's and '60's.
This event is free and for all ages.
