The decomposed body of an elderly man was discovered in a home in the 7900 block of South Oak Park Avenue Sunday afternoon.
Burbank police received a call from a neighbor who reported that they had not seen the man for several weeks. Officers dispatched to the residence to check on the man’s well-being were met by a foul odor at the front door. Burbank Police Division Chief Mike Dudlo said the were no signs of foul play within the residence and the body was believed to be that of the homeowner.
A neighbor said the man lived alone.
The body was transported to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office. The Medical Examiner’s office said Monday night that a positive identification had not yet been made but the body was that of a male believed to be in his 70’s.
Further details were not immediately available and police said an investigation is ongoing.
